Le Minh is a breath of fresh air on the Hanoi art scene.  The square blocks of paints in his works remind me so much of the windows we were all customed to in the command economy days of Hanoi.  At that time, we little children were often kept at home during the non-school hours behind the windows while our parents were at work. These were literally and figuratively our windows to the world.  Minh expresses this sense of nostalgia in an abstract form, which makes it so refreshing and exciting.

• Graduated from Ho Chi Minh City Film College in 1992
